Interview (31.05.2017)
When did you start doing Nordic Combined and what was your motivation for it?
I started skiing when I was three and skijumping when I was nine, then I also started nordic combined. I was very skillful with skis, so my dad took me to the skijumpingschool. I liked it a lot.
Do you have a role model?
My role model for skiing is Johannes Klæbo and for skijumping Johann Forfang.
Please tell something about yourself! What kind of person are you?
I am a happy person, I don't like to take stress. Usually my brain is "off" but when I focus on something, I do it well. I am fast at learning new things.
What are your hobbies that you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to parkour or ride a bike. Also I like to save my energy by laying on the bed.
What are your thoughts on the last winter?
Last winter didn't go so well, I was sick three times. I didn't manage to reach the Finnish nordic combined team for PM-competition in Norway, but I managed to go to the same competition with Finnish skijumping team. I also had a few good skijumping and nordic combined competitions in Finland.
Do you have any routines at the competitions?
Before competition I usually warm up about one hour. I'm a dieselmotor so I have to warm my motor up slowly, then I'm ready to go.
What was the best achievement of your career so far and what the biggest disappointment? My best achievement so far is second place in PM-competition in Estonia 2016. I don't have big disappointments, but it always irritates me when a teammate beats me.
What are your goals as a sportsman in general and for the next season?
My goal for the next season is to reach Finnish nordic combined team for PM-championships in Vuokatti and to do great job there. In the future, I want to get a medal from the junior worldchampionships.
