Henri, nice to "meet" you! Some of my readers won't know your name yet, so can you tell us some facts about yourself please?
Hi! My name is Henri Kavilo, 15 years old from Kuopio and I have been on young's national team named "Lahti2017". I started nordic combined when I was 7 years old?!
Do you have a role model among former Nordic Combined athletes? What made you become a competitor in this sport?
Hmm yes my idol was Anssi Koivuranta and Jaakko Tallus when I was a little man! That second is a very difficult question... I think that it's the love for sport xD Because when I started ski jumping, it just felt like something amazing and I started skiing when I was 3 years old so it feels right to continue nordic combined "career" and then came some good results for that and there we still are.
Recently, you've been successful at the junior competitions in Sweden (leading after the ski jumping and then coming in 4th at the 8km Individual Gundersen and winning the bronze medal at the Team Sprint with Otto Niittykoski). What was it like to compete there?
It was a very funny tour!! Hill was difficult but on competitions jumping was good! Skiing didn't feel good because I had been sick about 2 months before those competitions so it was a little bit hard. I went there as a substitute because Severi Taipale and Mikko Hulkko were sick and this way I got the chance to compete and I think I got some good results.
Would you like to compete on an international level more often?
Yes that's my point! I just have to train more next summer and try to get a place for some Continental Cup competitions, that's my target for next season.
With that, you've also already answered my last question. Kiitos!
