Just outside of Rovaniemi lies the Ounasvaara mountain, which gave the city's ski club its name. The hill complex on lacation (K90/HS100; K64, K36, K25, K15 and K6) enables the athletes from OHS to have ski jumping training in summer and winter. They also find a cross-country track right next to the hills. The 5 to 12 year old juniors are trained by 3 coaches. One of them is Ali Hoikkala, who currently also acts as president of the club's SJ and NC section. In wintertime, there are 2 to 3 ski jumping sessions and one in the gym per week for the children. Those who also want to ski have the possibility to train with the cross-country group 2 times a week. In the summer, the upcoming young athletes of course keep practicing their jumping skills on the hills and in addition to that have roller-ski training. They also do yoga and other exercises at the Lapland Sports Academy Santa Sport with coach Jukka Ylipulli.
