Being located in the southern part of Finland, Tampere has experienced some mild winters in the past years and therefore the number of ski jumpers and NC athletes has decreased. Nonetheless, the city's sports club (which also offers CC skiing, basketball, weightlifting, orientating, athletics and cheerleading) has some famous names of all ages on their repertoire. For instance, there are 2015 International Masters Champion Petr Virolainen, COC and WC competitor Jussi Salo as well as promising talents Jarkko Lankinen (U15) and twins Lauri and Aleksi Lankinen (U13). The hill complex consisting of 3 ski jumps (K47/HS52, K25/HS28 and K10/HS12) is located near the city centre in Hervanta. The small hills have plastic matting and the team of Pyrintö also wants to get the largest hill equipped for jumping in summertime. But these plans can probably not be realised before 2016/17. The juniors have about 3-4 training sessions at Hervanta per week. Their CC skills are trained on the lighted trails around the jumping hills and on the Kauppi tracks. The latter are also approved for hosting national competitions and are used for training by Jarkko, Lauri, Aleksi and the club's CC-team.
