When did you start doing Nordic Combined and what was your motivation for it?
Elli: I started Nordic Combined when I was six years old and I wanted to become an excellent ski jumper.
Do you have a role model?
Elli: My role model is Simon Ammann. I have met Simon once in Lahti world championships 2017. It was a great moment for me.
Please tell something about yourself! What kind of person are you?
Elli: I am happy and sporty. I also like to take part in the competitions and I will never give up.
What are your hobbies that you like to do in your free time?
Elli: I'm also playing volleyball, track and field, jogging and skiing.
What are your thoughts on the last winter? What do you think about the season, are you satisfied with your results?
Elli: Last season was good for training because there was a bit more snow than in the previous season. I was not sick any time during the competitions and the results were also stable.
Are there any things you need to change for the next season concerning jumping, skiing or mental strength?
Elli: In jumping I'm trying to improve my uphill position and in skiing I'm going to gain more power.
How are you preparing for the upcoming season?
Elli: I'm going to go jogging and roller skiing. I'm going to stretch more and practice jumping in the summer.
What are your goals as a sportswoman in general and for the next season?
Elli: My goal is to be able to represent Finland in international competitions and to be as healthy and in good shape as possible in the coming season.
What was the best achievement of your career so far and what the biggest disappointment?
Elli: My biggest achievement was the national bronze medal in the U18 series 2017 and 2018 in nordic combined and when I was chosen to the youth national team. The biggest disappointment was when I was sick just before Hopeasompa, national youth championships in 2017.
Do you have any routines at the competitions?
Elli: I always warm up in the same way for every contest.
What do you think about the development of girls in this sport?
Elli: Girls have developed a lot in this sport and certainly many of the girls will be heard of in the future.
