When did you start doing Nordic Combined and what was your motivation for it?
Alva: I was 4 years old and my brother jumped, and I wanted to try too. I don't really remember how I started to ski, but I tried to participate in a ski training and I liked it so I continued.
Do you have a role model?
Alva: No, I don't have a special role model but of course I want to become as good as they who compete in the world cup.
Please tell something about yourself! What kind of person are you?
Alva: I am a girl who always wants to give 100%. I am happy and and positive and if there is a competition I want to be the best. If it doesn't go as I thought I become dissapointed with myself but if it goes as I wanted I become very happy, of course, but I don't really like to boast of myself.
What are your hobbies that you like to do in your free time?
Alva: Beside training and sport I like baking and cooking.
What are your thoughts on the last winter? What do you think about the season, are you satisfied with your results?
Alva: It has been a very good season for me. The jumps have been very good for me and the skiing has been okay. I have got all the results as I wanted and the bronze skijumping medal at the Nordic Junior Ski Competition was such a pleasure and surprise for me. I am really satisfied.
Are there any things you need to change for the next season concerning jumping, skiing or mental strength?
Alva: I can always become better, so I will train on all parts but I hope that the skiing can be a little bit faster next season and the jumps can never be too good.
How are you preparing for the upcoming season?
Alva: I will train hard and hope that the next season becomes at least as good as the latest.
What are your goals as a sportswoman in general and for the next season?
Alva: The goal is to be the best in the world one day in the future.
What was the best achievement of your career so far and what the biggest disappointment?
Alva: I have two things that I am really satisfied with. When I took the NJSC bronze and when I jumped for the first time in a HS100. That was cool. I don't really know what my biggest dissapointment is, but I am trying to not focus on the dissapointments.
Do you have any routines at the competitions?
Alva: I actually don't have a special routine but I eat a good breakfast and do often the same warm up. I try to not focus on the competition too much and not be so stressed.
What do you think about the development of girls in this sport?
Alva: I hope that more girls will try skijumping and nordic combined. We are very few and if we become more we can reach very high. And I hope all girls who already do it will continue. The sport is very new for girls, so if it only gets its time it can become a very good thing.
