When did you start doing Nordic Combined and what was your motivation for it?
Herman: I started skiing when I started walking becaus my mom and dad are ex-skiers and then I saw ski jumping on TV and I started it when I was 5 years old.
Do you have a role model?
Herman: Yes. Ilkka Herola is my role model because he lives in Kuopio and trains in Puijo.
Please tell something about yourself! What kind of person are you?
Herman: I’m a talkative and casual person. I don’t fear anything.
What are your hobbies that you like to do in your free time?
Herman: In winter I like to go to dowhillskiing and in summer I swim and last summer I played football a lot.
What are your thoughts on the last winter? What do you think about the season, are you satisfied with your results?
Herman: Last winter was great. I developed at skiing and ski jumping. I’m very satisfied with last season results.
Do you have any routines at the competitions?
Herman: Every competition goes own way, but often I don’t eat anything 1h before start and 3 - 5 minutes before start I take off my training suit.
What was the best achievement of your career so far and what the biggest disappointment?
Herman: My best achievement was when I won Hopeasompa competition in 2016 and when I was second last winter. My biggest disappointment was when I was fourth in Hopeasompa 2017.
What are your goals as a sportsman in general and for the next season?
Herman: I have big dreams in Nordic Combined, because I want win in Olympic Games. And I think if I develop this speed my next winter will be awesome. Of course I will try to win Hopeasompa. Now just train much and enjoy this summer.
